In order for your chinchilla to be healthy, it needs dust bath as the dust will keep it hygienic. Domestic chinchilla does not have the volcanic ash of the Andes to refresh themselves; consequently a regular dust bath is essential. Chinchilla is able to keep their fur spick and span because of the dust that causes the oil and dirt to be released.
