Aquarium Algae Introduction
Aquarium Algae Introduction
Algae are plant like, usually microscopic organisms that conduct photosynthesis like larger plants, but they lack stems, roots and leaves. Not only do they assist in breaking down organic matter, but they also provide organic matter to the soil. One common example of algae is the Seaweeds.
Tropical Fish - White Spot
White spot is a single-celled, ciliate protozoan. In regular English, this means it’s a single celled parasite organism, which propels itself through the water through use of cilia, or filament-like hairs. Mature adult cells are 0.5 - 1.0 mm in size, and are usually clearly visible to the naked eye.
A Brief History of Fishkeeping
The history of fishkeeping dates back to antiquity, and one can only speculate as to its exact origins. Could it be for instance, that long ago in a distant land, possibly China, that a man took a fish from a pond, or stream, and placed it in a container? Thus becoming the first fish keeper!
